“Voting is the expression of our commitment to ourselves, one another, this country and this world.”
Dear [Insert company name here] Employee,
This April will welcome another election season for Johnson County, and I would like to encourage you to take the time to learn about your local candidates and make that important trip to the polls on Tuesday, April 7.
In the 2014 Spring general election, Johnson County experienced a voter turnout of only 9.6 percent. That’s right, less than onetenth of the registered voters actually showed up at the polls and exercised this important right and privilege. Won’t you join me in working to improve that voter turnout number in 2015? I will be voting in both the primary and general elections and encourage you to do the same. (If your company offers time off to vote or incentives like free ice cream for voters, this is a great place to insert something about these programs)
For information about voter registration, where to vote, how to vote in advance and important deadlines and general voting questions, please visit the Johnson County Election Office by clicking here. For voter information and profiles on the candidates in many races visit the votejoco.com website using this link: http://jocoelection.org/voters/for_voters.htm. After you familiarize yourself with the voting process, I sincerely hope that you will take the time to participate in our democracy. We need you.
